The good news for Cult fans is that Ian Astbury who split to front the re-formed Doors is back.
'Born Into This' is the band's first new material since 2001's 'Beyond Good and Evil' and on it, they return to what made them one of the '80s most reliable, riff-heavy outfits:
Guitarist Billy Duffy supplies his typical, , relentless, fist-pumping power chords (on "Sound of Destruction" and "I Assassin"), while Astbury, known for his killer wail - knows when to hold back and when to unleash it.
Nothing on 'Born Into This' kicks as hard as Cult classics like "She Sells Sanctuary" and "Love Removal Machine," but "Dirty Little Rockstar" slithers surprisingly close.
Those new to The Cult will be surprised to learn an old band can rock this hard. Those seasoned fans already know this.

4/26/2012 - Ting Tings 'Sounds From Nowheresville' CD Review Borrowed from SPIN and because I hated the first album I love hearing about a terrible second album.
1/21/2008 - Charlie Wilson’s War - Movie Review This film is based on true events that revolve around a U.S. official and his efforts to prevent the Soviet occupation of Afghanistan.
Charlie Wilson loved whiskey and he loved women, but they didn’t stop him from accomplishing something that should have been impossible
1/21/2008 - I Am Legend - Movie Review In the year 2012 what was supposed to have cured the world from the horrible ravages of Cancer has mutated into a virus that has eradicated mankind from the planet. Dr. Robert Neville who appears to be immune from this biological agent roams the empty streets of New York in search of a cure.
11/21/2007 - No Country For Old Men (2) A hunter by the name of Llewelyn Moss (Josh Brolin) captures the ultimate bounty when he stumbles upon 2 million in cash. Of course when 2million goes missing there will always be those in search of it.
11/21/2007 - American Ganster Movie Review Denzel Washington and Russell Crowe give their usual brilliant performances, but the movie falls a bit short. Crowe's character is given too much screen time and the masterful mind of a drug lord is not explored enough. American Gangster is a good film but you leave feeling like one of Lucas's junkies, desiring a bit more.
11/20/2007 - Zookeeper - 'Become All Things' Become All Things is a nice album of piano-bar sing alongs with deep mood swings. It will not go down as one of the best of 2007, or live up to the hype, but the songs shoud find a nice place on your IPOD
10/26/2007 - Dropkick Murphys - 'The Meanest Of Times' Despite gaining mainstream exposure on last year's soundtrack to 'The Departed' as well as singing the National Anthem (repeatedly) for The Boston Red Sox, The Dropkick Murphys haven't softened their rough edges
